Insects at Enns

While a thrilling place to visit, the physical space occupied by the Enns Entomology Museum — an unexceptional suite of rooms in MU’s sprawling Agriculture Building — is, given the realities of brick and mortar, a venue with limitations. Not so the Internet, where soon scientists, collectors and others with insect interests will be able, thanks to an ongoing National Science Foundation-funded project, to see photographs from Enns and 13 other collections in stunning clarity. The goal is to use insects from Enns and institutions nationwide “to create a national resource of digital data documenting existing biological collections.” Learn more at: cafnrnews.com.
